I personally don't believe it's the roles themselves that win awards. Denzel had many stunning preformances, but Training Day was definately one of his best, IMO, because he absolutely nailed it. It also has to do with how broad an audience the film reaches. Denzel's preformance in Malcolm X was also one of his best, but how many people saw it outside of the Black community?

For a period in our history (African American descendents of slaves) to be "free" meant "to be emancipated" - to be autonomous and self-determining. Yep, I thought of that one all by myself. LOL Now, a large number of drunk drivers are illegal drivers. If they have a harder time buying liquor, then that might help. I guess being in jail for undocumented illegal immigrants is full participation in our society. After all ask "our" people in jail that question. Dont worry the US army has free labor camps to answer that need of labor shortage. Obama is adding nothing to this problem except crafted words. Yah, his Father is a JaLuo from Kenya who came here on a student visa and got his citizenship by marrying his mother and then bouncing... Isn't that basically a 'loophole' in the legality issue?..Not that I give a damn, to me this country is illegal. IMO his father being from Kenya is precisely why he shouldn't think this way.
