One of the biggest obstacles we face is their propensity to view themselves as the center of the universe and all that they do, think and feel as the norm, or as the normative standard to which everything is compared and judged. There have been plenty of studies done on racial disparities on medical treatment. SOME have shown that even Black practitioners provide a lower standard of care to Black patients. In my view it has to do with the amount of insurance that is available to the individual based on the job that they work, the general standard of the medical facility itself (as compared to one in a more wealthy facility and YES plain ole racism. Do you think the vocher movement today has the intention to desegregate ???
