I didn't see that show Donna, but I've known that about Thomas Jefferson for a long time. Jefferson had more than 20 children who were his slaves. It always made me wonder how many of us might be able to trace our ancestry back to Thomas Jefferson.

That's sounds like something that happened to me last year. I was airing an episode of "Girlfriends," a show that I HATE! I'm usually up, out of bed and working on my second cup of coffee, third section of the paper, on my third or fourth news channel and have reviewed my "Gotta Get Done" list well before sunrise. It is the time for me to connect with the world on my terms. It helps that the women in my life/house, my wife, daughter, and now, mother-in-law, are all late sleepers.

I'll admit, I still watch BET from time to time, only during Comic View and when they show old-school videos. But I say BET has been a lost cause ever since Robert Johnson sold the station to Viacom, It's been a lost cause when Viacom moved BET out of Harlem to it's CBS station downtown It's been a lost cause when BET fired Tavis Smiley without any adequate replacement. I don't think the current administration really concerns itself with the detrimental effects of and ever-increasing amount of companies who have a virtual monopoly in their industry. The only time I really see the government (sort of) crack down on that kind of thing is when there is a huge public outcry (like when people were raising hell about Clear Channel owning practically every single radio station we have access to and they were forced to sell like one or two of them ). Sadly I agree w/ ironazz on a couple points. Namely, it is a crying shame that we don't channel some of the 1/2 trillion dollars we put into the US economy each year.. Does anyone have a link to a valid (ironazz) link that breaks down how that 1/2 trillion is spent? I know at least 25-30% of it is necessary spending (rent, gas, car notes, health care, and food, (shit like that)). But I want to know how much we spend on frivolous spending (shit we don't need), movies, smoking, liquor, drugs...
