I think it was one of those instances where it was so "hyped" that when you finally saw the movie it didn't meat expectations. I knew of the story but fond it focused on making Adams the hero. I think another issue is that it was directed by Spielberg. With how he covered "his" peoples story in "Shiendler's List "(sp?). I guess I hoped he would have done a better job.

Saw it... and loved it. It was truly an eye opener. When I was in college I worked at a theater on campus. The CSA (car. student assoc.) invited Manley to come speak and they treated him like a hero. Of course, I am ashamed to say, I had no idea who he was and could not appreciate his visit - the movie, L & D, made me understand why they revered(?) him so. No, it's not.
