I started this thread because I thought that it provided women with some good dating advice. Honest. Soon this thread turned into, like other threads, a battleground for negativity. I backed away from this thread for that reason. As for posting something 'nice' for the ladies, i've found that no matter what I post, be it pictures of beautiful sisters, dating advice, honest perspectives from a single male's point of view, song lyrics/music video links, etc I get nothing but crapped on. Honestly, and with all due respect, I'm not sure I understand why we're debating these semantic distinctions. Whether a racist is one with power, or merely a bigot, is not really meaningful to me. At the root, is the exact same sore - festering inside someone. If that sore exists - then it merely awaits an opportunity to infect others. I could certainly create a belief system that says that racism is one who makes judgments based upon race and that discrimination is the impact of one's...

It's actually fairly obvious what the most probable situation was. "Nigga" is an widely used slang word amongst non-racist teenagers, I know because I am a teenager. So, the South is growing faster economically. Does that necessarily mean the North is getting poorer? No, because there's not a fixed pie. Both regions can grow at the same time. In order for it to be zero sum, you'd have to prove that they cannot both grow at the same time . Good luck with that. First, who "isn't in the game"? Second, what losers are you talking about? People who lose their jobs? Resources shift and people gain and lose jobs. That alone does not make it a zero-sum game. In...

Toussaint. What you fail to consider is that everything is relative. Lets say that an area has a million residents and normative levels of population growth. Lets now say that there is little job growth, despite a growth in population. The net effect of that is that the economic health of the region is deteriorating, despite not losing any jobs, but because they are not gaining any jobs. This is why despite job growth under the Bush administration, his tenure is considered a poor performance...

Zero Sum Game : A situation in which a gain by one person or side must be matched by a loss by another person or side. No situation than any of you have brought up has fit this definition. BTW if any of you are yearning for a system where no one ever loses a job, it's already been tried. See: Soviet Union. Otherwise, your attacks on capitalism are really pointless, as any system that allows people to provide for themselves and better their lot will have job turnover.

Anytime there is a competition there is winners and losers. Capitalism is all about competition and thus produces winners and losers. The only way you cannot have winners and losers in competition is to have a DRAW or TIE.
