Agreed. But I think you've missed my point. My point is there are no organizations out there that address my [our] issues/interests of the Black community; but, unlike the republicans, the Democrats do address issues/interests that I have as a middle-class working stiff, that is a couple of paychecks or a major illness from homelessness. So absent a viable alternative, I will continue voting my [democratic] middle-class interests. I view building an independent Black party on the national...

As I [and Keylargo] stated before, I vote democrat, not because I believe that they have any love for, or even any respect for, the Black community; but rather, because the democrats promote policies that appeal to my sense of social and economic justice, more so than republican policies. No one has said or even implied that the democratic party is the be all and end all for Black people. So stop with the "strawman" arguments. However: edited to add "at this time."

Afroman, Why do you want to believe in parallel universes? I'm not sure that you show a reason for believing in them, yet you begin with them and end with them in your post. Why? First, a thought that is not a quibble even if it may seem like one: if a universe is "parallel," then it does not intersect with this one, and therefore there's no way to access it. We can know nothing about it. Second, human consciousness is part of this universe, that is true, but human consciousness has been...

There's a problem with this analysis. The Pharaoh of Moses' time did indeed have a Firstborn Son, who died in the last of the ten plagues. Akhenaton more closely parallels the pharaoh who was living during Joseph's time--especially considering the religious makeover of the times of Akhenaton. Pharaoh in Joseph's time had some pretty compelling dreams and interpretation was only possible through God who used Joseph to accomplish this. It is then entirely likely that Pharaoh went mono...
