He compared and contrasted for the specific purpose of noting that one is superior and the other is inferior, what would have been the point otherwise? I believe that the point he was making was that one cannot simply call a certain group of people "superior" or "inferior" because the most advanced societies have been different peoples at different times. Whether the cause was military or otherwise has no bearing on the point Sowell was making. But YAH clearly states,several times, that those nations will be taken care of when he passes judgement on the nations(see my sig. for one).
