Re: The Black "Progress Narrative" is Self-Defeating

Kocolicious ·
I agree that Blacks must start demanding instead of requesting. But we must also start respecting our cultures and the people in it and respect ourselves at the same time that's ONLY we can have any form of a Progress Narrative. It is only self-defeating when there's no self respect. We must there first. But!

I agree with him, too, provided that it is understood that to demand something does not necessarily have to be Verbal, that most of what we want has to be 'demanded' by our Actions [and non-Actions]. Ex.: Present/support candidates of our choosing, not chosen FOR us by Corporate Democrats. Move our money from non-Black banks to Black banks, or to Small Community Banks or Credit Unions. Stop boughing down to the West's 'Golden Calf', MATERIALISM. Unify to create Worker-Co-Ops to create our...

There are more black men in prison than whites. The laws don't apply to the two races the same. White cops can murder our children one day and they're back on the job the next; business as usual. We NEVER read about BLACK cops murdering WHITE children at ALL!!! They damn sure wouldn't be going back to work the NEXT day. We'd be reading about them taking their last meal before their execution. These floods are absolutely horrifying. Poor blacks are suffering the most. There are probably a few...

Maybe not, Yemaya!! Hillary Clinton still has ALL of the supporters she had from her (failed) 2008 bid ... which was formidable ... and, had it not been for the Black vote shifting en masse to the President, she would have won ... through White women (looking/hoping for the first female president!!) if nothing else!! If Obama supporters would hop on her bandwagon (primarily the Black and youth votes)... with the (White women) support she already has .... she just might be able to pull it...

Who decides or tells us who we really are? The women who act like there is something wrong with reading a book? Some girl tried to make a big deal of the word LADY when I was 12. The question is "Can the Youth Save Africa From Neo-Colonialism?" The answer is NO! Why? Could the mindset is still the same but worse. It has to be a complete breakdown of the principles and values of what make Africans unique[without all the outside religions dictating worth]. Who will do this if most of the youngsters are unable to read and write? How can they think for themselves?
