oshun, Please read what I wrote. I did not say that Greece got nothing from Egypt. Of course it did. The Greeks even said so, and that is still in the history of Greece. I first read that a long time ago in one of those huge Time-Life coffee-table picture books of Greece. So please do not say that whites "edit out" that information to keep it from everybody. I learned it from whites themselves. Besides, that's not my point. My point is twofold: 1. The Greeks were good enough thinkers to have...

Future relations will require candor, honesty and some historical reflection that has allowed them to peacefully co-exist for 500 years. Black...

My radio-listening time is confined to the 10 minutes it takes me to get to and from work and it's always NPR/Classical music. BUT, if we're going to talk about what's popular, we have to look at the impact of payola. BET UnCut has made some people millionaires. Because they don't have to give a chunk of profits to large record labels, one (in)famous song can put a whole lotta change in their pocket. Even beyond the UnCut crowd, there's always been a place for nonsense on the radio. Anybody...

I'll give it a shot, Mr. Chester And actually, as I think about it I do see your point. But, those that are 'black in skin color only' are really no beter than those feed off of us in the same manner as those who don't look like us do. They provide benefit for personal gain, not in order to contribute to the community "goal" of upliftment, as it were. Awesome! Her album Comfort Woman is really nice too. The only album that I would not recommend getting (unless you're a die-hard Meshell Ndegeocello fan), is Bitter. There are few decent tracks on this album, but many of the songs are really slow. Songs like "Fool of Me" and "Bitter" are mainly about having your heart broken. The schools dumbing down kids video was made in 1992. What do you bet they haven't improved much in Pennsylvania since then. There isn't that much useful visual information in the video, just one computer generated graphic near the beginning which is readable and some overhead projections she puts up later. The overhead projections are unreadable in the video. So the sound delivers all of the relevant info. I am in the process of converting it to an MP3 file. umbra

I think you should look at skiing and golfing a little more closely. How much land does a golf course take up? What sense does it make to use that much land for a GAME? How much water is used to keep golf courses green in Arizona? Arizona is a desert. There aren't better things to do with water in a desert. How much does it cost to fly to Colorado to ski? High class almost invariably means expensive. So the status seekers need the well to do to tell them how to waste money to project the...

I see your point, but you assume that people engage in such activities only to be thought of as "high class". Is it really that difficult to accept that some poeple like skiing for the same reason they like basketball? And skiing isn't *that* expensive if you already live in a ski region and buy a season pass. As for all the water involved in keeping the golf greens looking nice and pretty...yeah, it does take a lot of money, but that water in the desert wouldn't have many other uses (not...

That water in the desert comes from the Colorado River. The population growth of the southwest has created a political water war over how the water is allocated. Of course Mexico doesn't count. The Colorado doesn't reach the ocean anymore, there have been TV programs about this. I have had Black people comment about my speech as long ago as eigth grade. In my opinion both fucks us equally and neither uses a condom. During Clintons run what happend, more black men got locked up than ever before. NAFTA was passed, who benifits from NAFTA, Mexico and Big business, who lose, working class citizens of the nation. I havent seen anything the Democratic party has done for us since Johnson, and what he did was give acts that were already given to us in the late 1800's

so based on your analogy, I guess we should just not fuck.....but since we know, we can't not fuck, we must pick which one to do. let's not forget, we have to negotiate with Republicans. It's hard to get things done when the two can't agree. Also, Reagan's "war on drugs" is what contributed to the high rate of incarceration of black men. you can also blame the unequal judicial system and poor choices made by some men. You cannot blame Clinton for that.
