I started this thread because I thought that it provided women with some good dating advice. Honest. Soon this thread turned into, like other threads, a battleground for negativity. I backed away from this thread for that reason. As for posting something 'nice' for the ladies, i've found that no matter what I post, be it pictures of beautiful sisters, dating advice, honest perspectives from a single male's point of view, song lyrics/music video links, etc I get nothing but crapped on. The first time I heard Erykah Badu was in the wee hours of the morning on the overnight radio show they played her first single "On & On" and my boyfriend at the time woke me up to listen to it. After that I kept hearing the song but didn't know who sang it. Then I was home from college on some break (I think Thanksgiving or Winter Break) and she was on BET with Big Les (remember her?) and they were at her house. It didn't even seem like an interview it was just like watching a visit to...

Silly Question but what does this mean and why? What if his goal is to do a honest day's work, take care of his home, wife, and children to the best of his abilities? This sounds a little like the phrase "I'll date a man with potential". I HATE that phrase. To me the person is saying, "I really don't accept you as you are but will if you become what I think you can become". Maybe that's why families and children are such a mess these days. Quoted from the article, these are things that Republicans are suing Democrats for: It's pretty pathetic that this is the best that black conservatives can do. The fact is that above and beyond any party affiliations, it is conservative ideology that was behind everything listed above. What does that say about conservatives that they are attacking Democrats because of their previous conservative positions?

NO! It is exactly that unbalance relationship that leads to a stalled, halted or forsaken "dialogue." Arguably, people could say Dr. King and Pres. Lydon Johnson started a "dialogue." For sure, a number of common folk or community leaders, mostly educators and religious leaders have had "dialogues." But hardly any thing that can be regarded as a serious "dialogue" where it counts, in the halls of power. As for Clinton's deal, you can research and look for opinions about that "conversation".

There are many conflicted accounts of what happened. Where are the families of these people who supposedly "died"? Where is the fund for them? Why did the goverment whisk off the debris so fast and not allow any inspection? Why do so many witnesses claim to have seen/heard a missle and a fighter jet? Why didn't Flight 77 leave the radar? Now THAT was a good attempt to prove it was a plane. It almost had me convinced, ALMOST. Now, I am thinking it may have been some sort of plane, but I'm still unconvinced that it was specifically a 757. That hole is just way too damn small to have been a 757 (unless the Pentagon is made out of titanium that's 8 feet thick). Do you know how force would be behind a 600,000-lb vehicle traveling over 300 mph? I don't see how anyone can ignore the lack of wing damage, and the fact that cameras...

All of that is cleared up and addressed in the link provided. The dimensions of the entry damage are exactly consisent with the dimentions of the plane. There is not only pictures of plane debris on the ground but also inside the building. There was MASSIVE destruction inside and outside of the building and (again) plenty of supportive photographs and EYEWITNESS accounts. At a certain point, there is just no convincing people who want to hang on to this conspiracy theory for whatever reason.

Have to agree with you on this one, EP. For the most part, colleges and universities are institutions of conformity. I say this with some insight, having worked at UCSF in administration for eleven years. In general, colleges and universities are a mirror of the values of society. And in this society, the reflection is capitalism and power. For US colleges and universities, government funding, corporate funding, private grants, and alumnae contributions, pretty much spell status quo.
