The majority of holocaust/genocide denial is purely out of sheer arrogance and propaganda psychology designed to make the Victims look like liars or exaggerators or that they deserved to be done that way if anyone does believe it is true. It is only a fringe benefit that it also serves as coping mechanism for the descendants of the perpetrators of such primal, sub-human, crimes against humanity to keep them from questioning their "leaders".
