Re: DeBerry's comments on Blk Athletes

Frenchy ·
And yet, to others it says simply that Black kids are not good test takers and there is their proof. Isn't this what you just asked me to do with your Black athlete vs. Black intelligence questions? I missed where you made reference to any causality. I also missed where this coach made any mention of why Black athletes have greater speed and/or why "Black kids can run fast." No, I don't agree with his generalization.

So what? Must we be responsible for all racist thinking in America? So what that there are those who believe that we are inherantly inferior? You're right - I didn't discuss causality because in my view it's not relevant. Who cares why? We're making observations at this point. What informs your notion? One need only turn on the TV to see copious data supporting his? In your view, what is preventing white athletes from either competing - or being seen competing?

BTW - a lot of the tension has been communicated to be between TO and Andy Reid. IMO both are but mere pawns; TO a tactical one and Reid a strategic one. Either way, from a management standpoint, they are both tools to win games - no more or less. On a less philosphical level though, TO is FAR more valuable to that franchise than Reid. How many Super Bowls has Reid brought them? Is he one of the best at what he does? Is he going to the hall of fame? Big play players win games. TO is one of...

Agree - but what should he have done when Reid told him to STFU? We'd be calling TO a punk if he said "yes sir" and backed off. Again, in my book, there is no difference between a professional coach and a pro player. They are both employees. As I said above, one happens to be a strategic resource and the other a tactical one - but they both are "owned" by the team. They both should be focused on winning. They both should recognize the importance and role of the other. In that light, I don't...

If we are talking professional sports then the answer maybe yes but how can they. If you have a team FULL of prima donas you can't bench them all - not if you want to win and THAT is the main goal of the coach. You have to realize it's a business not just a sport.

Good principals with the assistance of their staffs can easily rid themseves of drug dealing teachers. I did not literallly mean lay siege to the schools but we must allow teachers and administrators more leverage when it comes to disciplining their students.
