CF, don't care about Marion Barry, he is a liberal politiian, CF, might say Marion being robbed was pay back for his robbing the people while in office. Of course I expect MBM to follow up with a reply to the effect that "I am right" that Black people are savages or thugs or something foolish such as this. To the people of Washington DC who have defended Marion Barry, seeing him as a victim of a conspiracy by Whites who don't want him in power, working on behalf of the poor in DC this must be tantamount to Rosa Parks getting robbed in her home despite asking the thug "Do you know who I am" and he not caring . I think we need to create a new set of financial goals and objectives (aspirations) which include 'money in the bank', but as America is set up now - it's all about "stuff"! Anytime there is a competition there is winners and losers. Capitalism is all about competition and thus produces winners and losers. The only way you cannot have winners and losers in competition is to have a DRAW or TIE. In "Race, Crime, and the Law", by Randall Kennedy, he details this dichotomy very well. In short, the law has never been our friend. From the beginning of slavery, we have been grossly underprotected by the law. Murder, rape, theft, kidnapping, assault, ect, were not considered crimes if they were commited against slaves. They were only crimes if the victim was white. Then, there is unequal enforcement of the law. The "Slave Codes" were ridiculus to any rational mind. One of the ironies I...
