Today in Police Brutality: 5-Year-Old Cuffed and Charged with Assault Michael Davis is a hyperactive 5-year-old diagnosed with ADHD who frequently gets into fights at school. His mother calls him an "energetic, loving, good kid" who is misunderstood by school administrators at Rio Calaveras Elementary of Stockton, California. They disagree, frequently complaining to his divorced parents that he is a discipline problem. When the school didn't see any improvement, they took matters in their...

First of all, I don't BELIEVE in medicating children that YOUNG!!! Secondly, school officials are too quick to handcuff our children instead of using the tools and skills they went to college and supposedly trained for. Whatever happened to go to the corner? Whatever happened to time out and then contacting parents before sending him off to a psychiatric hospital? Whatever happen to steps to mitigate the problem prior to giving up and calling the police? On a five-year old? GTFOH!! See we...

When people don't study history, specifically their own, they are doomed to repeat it. There is an entire documentary about this happening after Reconstruction through the 1940's. However, its not like this has ever stopped happening at all.

Your are correct. I have had several arguments with certain Black people that have the belief that they don't need to know anything about Black history, and especially anything about African history or Africa at all. It's not JUST a Black phenomenon, that holds true to EVERYONE. Look how soon Americans "forget" the job-killing, economy crippling policies of the prior administration or the one before that, etc. But, it IS or SHOULD BE more of an interest or concern for African Americans and...

African America is going to have to see where they stand on this issue. On the one hand, our children would be better off if we could open our own schools in our own communities (and Churches). On the other hand, if we assist in de-funding public schools, where will our children be educated at when they change the game on us? (and they always do). Or, should African Americans fight like hell against this, which is going nationwide, and do whatever it takes to make ALL Public Schools better...

I know that it used to be that a person could not be locked up for a debt owed, but now? These "States" have been quietly making their own laws, many of which are unconstitutional, so it now may depend on exactly which state you happen to live in as to whether or not a creditor can have you locked up. The same with wage garnishment. Wage garnishment was made unlawful, now I see, that it is no longer against the law for creditors to garnish people wages.

This is WHAT I am talking about. Forced sexuality at an early age. And I bet a dime against a donut, some bully forced the current bully to do the SAME thang or he was in a situation to see it done and saw the power it brought on. And he wanted it for himself. Beside the act itself perpetrated on this child, what I found unbelievable was the fact that the school was going to continue to allow the older child to attend the school, with the school principal saying, 'the assault would not happen again and that the two children would be separated and closely monitored.' I would be demanding that either that child not be allowed back in that school or that the school district pay for my child to attend a private school; in fact, I think I would demand...

I find this REAL interesting in regards to the recent story of the (White) teens who verbally abuse a (White) bus monitor that was caught on video!!! There was IMMEDIATE swift and harsh action taken with the violating teens being suspended from school for an entire YEAR!! This is REALLY about is MONEY; Public schools receive X-amount of dollars for each day a student is in attendance per child, if the child does not come to school, the school system does not get that amount for that day, evidently, there must be some prorating of funds going on regarding tardies.
