First of all - she has taken the first step and is at the damned police station. Second of all, that she has survived as long as she has is a testament to her personal...

Making them feel comfortable? That's absolutely ridiculous! It's one thing to say that seeing a group of teenagers talking loudly and wearing oversized clothing makes one uncomfortable--I don't like being near any race of teens, as a matter of fact (barely out of my teens years myself, funny enough). But then some people will persist in feeling threatened because you are Black, irregardless of how neatly dressed or well spoken you are. I've experienced situations like this, only with Asians...

While I've never seen one of her shows, you brought up an interesting point about stage performances. It's been more than 5 years since I've seen anything other than primarily instrumental jazz performances. Why? because too many vocal "artists" can't do live, what they do in the studio. And, those that come close to approaching their studio efforts, spend more time on their scripted to the minute routine and it comes across as the umpteenth time they've performed it. I think we need more college campus progressive groups. As active as the College Republicans are these days, we REALLY need more Progressives to step up to the bat and counter-act this current retro-gressive revolution in America. We need PROGRESSIVES, since the Dems are too weak to step up to the bat (and half of the time, they are in cahoots with the Republicans' racist and elitist agenda).
