Re: Conservatives and Liberals: Why We Believe What We Believe

Black Viking ·
This is the part that confuses me about America. Realistically people should be voting for their own economic interests. But there are so many more "have-nots" than there are "haves" that I don't understand how conservatives get a foot hold at all. The only explaination I can find is ideological manipulation. The vast majority of "haves" are conservative for the reasons you stated, but they have some how convinced a huge number of "have-nots" that they have something worth preserving as...

I take offense to CF hyjacking that photo. He never said jack about the photo in the other forum. The other brother and myself resolved how we NEED to do more and I talked about what I had and am engaged in upon the contenent. Again, he did not say jack slit during that time. Now he comes on here talking about how powerful it has impacted him. Thats BS I do believe. He knew...

I guess she knows what she wants and was 'putting it out there'. Ronin is right about her obviously feeling 'comfortable' saying it. She certainly likes the direct approach! If it's only money and sex she's after, then for sure, it will be an equally minded kind of guy who'll take the bait. Game set match. Re: Boortz: Rep. McKinney "looks like a ghetto slut"

Boortz's comment was intended to do exactly what it is doing, distracting the conversation from the "how in the hell a security officer did not recognize a sitting member of the house" question to something completely irrelevant. If we could only find a fishing pole large enough, we'd eat forever because there are so many that will swallow any bait.

Thanks for the responses. I wasn't asking leading questions or trying to bait you. I know that sometimes behaviors are misread along gender lines. Just trying to do some translation. Back to the venting: Why do some aggressive women pretend to be passive at the onset of a relationship, then reveal their true selves later? Aren't you setting false expectations for the man when you do this?

J&J is for Black kids in all white areas to meet other Black kids in the same situation. So that those Black kids know that they are not the only ones going through a Norman Rockwell picture and you should know the one of which I speak. Call elitist, call it what ever you like. The point is that it is positive for most kids that participate in it. Funny thing is that for all the people on this thread that down J&J there are many more who still want to join. Wonder why? The reason why no one "took the bait" because starting a "club" off the negative energy of Jack and Jill would be a sophmoric event. And be a part of what solution? Jack and Jill isn't part of any solution for Black peoples. It part of the problem.

The problem – if what we've seen from their media cohorts is any indication – is that their intent is not likely to serve but to exploit. In short, they want to use their style of communication ("junk" news about celebrities, sex, crime, entertainment and innocuous clap-trap) as bait to deliver our vast spending power (projected to grow annually from $318 billion in 1990 to $921 billion in 2008) to corporate advertisers.---Wilson 'The Times' setting up business in 'the hood' is a surprise...
