HB, Is there a particular situation or circumstance which you have in mind with this question? As a former college chaplain in a multifaith context, it was my responsibility to both promote a free exchange of ideas while simultaneously protecting the rights of all within an academic community. This meant that any religious group had the right to gather, publicize their events, beliefs, etc. What was not allowed was coercize or aggressive evangelism? Thus, if you were a Christian group who...

I can see where your problem lies. It sounds like guns for hire, in other words mercenaries. Companies who've robbed Africa of her resources use hired "security" to harass at will the locals. If you live near a military installation, you'll see that Wackenhut has been contracted out to do security instead of the soldiers. This started in Europe and now has spread to the U.S. I don't like it either. By the way, Wackenhut is one of the largest gov't contractors. They must be greasing some...

Indeed, this is where we fundamentally disagree. The average person who drinks had had at least 3 or 4 occassions when they knew they were seriously imparied and yet still drove somewhere, not counting the times that they were over the legal limit but did not "feel drunk." To be convited of a DUI, you need only be over the limit and driving or operating a vehicle. You don't have to crash. You don't have to kill someone. You don't have to be falling down drunk. It's funny how this man insists on making this into a pro homosexual rights sight. You'd think that engaging in homosexuality turned them into saints or gods of some sort. In fact, most homosexual violence is committed between homosexuals themselves or incited by homosexuals making unwanted advances to others. They seem to love to harass, slander, and bully people who resist their sexual advances and have no respect for whether others practice homosexuality or not, only their OWN appetite...

I worked for a government agency for five years that employed a large number of gays. Of the 55-60 people in my department, I was one of only 10-12 "straight" people. In only one case in those five years did I ever experience, witness, or hear stories of this aggressive "in-your-face" kind of behavior. This was an eight - twelve hours per day job, five days a week. My experience with gay people during these five years was the opposite of what has been described in some posts on this board.

This is nonsense! I don't understand the logic of this incessant pro homosexual rhetoric. It's absurd to claim homosexuals are being discriminated against because Christians resist dishonoring the bible to appease them. I would certainly question why anyone would place ANY sexual interest above the importance of positive social rituals that build healthy, irreplaceable family structures in favor of what boils down to nothing more than the pursuit of meaningless flash-in-the-pan experiences.

Sunnubian, I'm going to say I have to agree. This is just another way to racially profile and harass black people, especially the youth. No one is speaking up against this and we should be. Another example is a young man was arrested for wearing a cap backwards at a club in Charlotte, NC last week. Although he was a paid customer and he was allowed to come into the club dressed that way. He was also arrested for trespassing. When I mentioned this to a group of AA, they presumed that he was...

No, police should not have the legal right to arbitrarily "stop and frisk" anyone. It gives the police to much power over the people and takes away the Civil Liberties of American citizens. It also leave as wide margin open for racist police to harass Black and Brown people, and they certainly take advantage of it. There are too many police officers on nearly every force in America that have issues, mental problems and racist ideology (which is behind many of them joining in the first place)...
