Re: LA Riots 20th Anniversary: Rodney, Reginald, The Riots & Rebuilding

Yemaya ·
Well Rodney, for one thing he's lucky to be alive. Secondly, it wasn't his fault in the first place for the riots. The blame squarely lies on the system of L.A. justice which the black people of L.A. and other cities in the U.S. were just tired of. Today we know that the majority of black people are leaving or have left L.A. due to continued violence not just by police, but now by South Americans who are coming to the city.

I still think he was set up. As I ponder on this? Why would his friend leave him alone unless something was up? Hopefully this is a beginning of finding out exactly what happened. I'm kinda surprised to hear from Afro-Mexicans. Usually you don't hear the political voice of Black Mexicans. This is amazing! And probably MORE to come. But!

I know it's Quentin Tarentino and he's known for going against the grain with quirky films that no one else attempts to make but the slavery genre of movies is really played out and there is really no more interest in them especially with young people or older African Americans. Tarentino has this thing about Black people and Black movies where he seems to revel in movies depicting Black plight and not Black achievement or accomplishment. Plus he really loves to say the word "n*gger" a lot...

I'm thinking that since it's Tarantino, it may be interesting, and he probably would not be afraid to tell some hard truths about slavery. What would be magnificent, would be if someone made a movie out of how Jamaicans freed themselves from slavery or how Haitian slaves declared war on their captors and won their freedom. I hope many (accurate) movies will be made regarding slavery, jim crow, the Black Codes, and about racism and sexism in America or anywhere else in the world, since most...

If you didn't have enemies, your home wouldn't have been firebombed. You have at least one, I'd say. When the whites are that twisted and have to resort to almost killing, you probably should move to a neighborhood that's not anti-black. Wealthy blacks do live places where their homes are not firebombed. Next time, you might not be so lucky if you remain where you are. White people are beyond sick these days; maybe not, they've ALWAYS been beyond sick. We have been designated to bear the...

You are correct, but when you listen to the usual suspects when the POTUS referred to the acts of the Crusaders etc, they can not admit they are the biggest terrorist.

And the POTUS was absolutely right ; Christianity was spread across the world the exact same way that ISIL is trying to spread Islam. The "Crusades" were a human blood-bath, and they decapitated (and crucified) far more human beings than ISIL has (so far). This doesn't even include all the...

When I was small Santa Claus was right up there with God Almighty. All over the place was Santa and Nativity Scenes/Baby Jesus in the Manger (carved in wood). We've never seen Santa; we've never seen Jesus nor God. I looked out of my great grandmother's window until it was time to try to go to sleep for that sleigh and the 8 flying reindeer, all the while Bing Crosby was singing White Christmas on the radio. I was 12 kinds of little fool when Christmas Eve rolled around. Left milk and...
