That IS a shame!! I would really like to know, though ... exactly WHO is paying this money to Chase??? The lady being interviewed indicated that Chase makes money off the 'swipe' of her card ... as in perhaps 'debit fees' ... which would be paid by the store/merchant. However, the reporter stated that they are paid "per customer" - either for maintaining the accounts or the issuance of the cards - which sounds like the State (as the manager of the food stamp program, itself!) would be liable...

There is and has never been anything wrong with soul food/African-American food. It really bothers me when people who don't know what the cuisine is talk about it as if they are experts and the only thing soulful they've eaten is fried chicken from KFC.

I've heard plenty of horror stories about food production and I try not to think about it, but, there is the issue of there being far too many health problems with Americans, and I believe the majority of it can be traced to our food supply. I am cooking my own food, trying to grow some of it, and trying to stay away from as much processed food as possible.
