House Representative Jesse Jackson, Jr. of Chicago has been advocating (and introducing formal legislation in Congress) for over a decade for an amendment to the Constitution that would federally legislate and guarantee EVERY CITIZEN the right to vote equally. Most people don't know (or care) nor support his proposals (by being politically engaged in the process) by insisting that their representatives approve this bill.
