If the Duke University lacrosse team did in fact sexually violate this young woman, with the unsubstantiated evidence that hasis being presented,ie. weak to no DNA; than yes, this case may be all but over. Unless there is/was tape of this crime, consider these young white males acquitted. Do you think it is possible that this 'exotic' dancer is lying, or 'hyped' the incident? I believe something happened to her; just not sure who the guilty are.

I for one am OUTRAGED by these allegations. I am very disturbed by this. Watching the news this morning, I heard one brother make an excellent point about how the media defamed the reputation of this young woman. Rather than acknowleding her as a student or woman, the racist media purposely identifies the victim as a "stripper." But if it were a White victim of rape, regardless of her occupation, she would have been described as a woman first. And you're right, something did happen that day...

According to an article I was just reading... ["Black women stew about the narrow, negative ways they are nearly always portrayed. They are either quick-tempered and full of attitude like Tyler Perry's Madea character or the comedian Mo'Nique, or they are barely dressed and brazenly sexual like the women mimicking strippers in so many music videos" -- http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12305991/] ...black women seem to be at the adverse end of the stick. Lascivious droolers like Neal Bortz and Rush...

Well, Despite the negative DNA finding, there was a documented physical exam done on the young lady that was consistent with rape. I don't think that the lack of DNA evidence completely rules out rape. One still has to consider other source of evidence such as battery etc.. I am glad that the defense attorney is still holding steadfast to the case.

Fine, this whole incident w/ the duke university lacrosse team and the stereotypes of bw proves the point that i've been trying to get my friends to see. maybe it's an age thing but most of the black girls i associate with do not find these images of themselves disrespectful at all and actually seem to relish in them and when i try to get them to see my point of view on what it's doing to the image of many bw they tell me to lighten up and that that every woman is portrayed in a sexual way...

Kidding me? That's like asking whether I prefer Hitler or Bush. I might have to think on the matter when Bush considers compulsory Green Bombers youth camps. Would Africans want a Mugabe or a Bush? I'm not sure if a majority of the continent would pick him. Mugabe probably isn't all that sure most of Zimbabwe really wants him. He's been accused of some things that make Florida look vanilla. Maybe most of Africa would vote for him. I really don't know. I wouldn't.

Mugabe is a probelm we must address as Africans. However, he was right to chase white folks out of his nation, and for that, I would prefer him over white rule in Africa.

They've finally arrested two of three men being accused, but why is it taking officers so long to arrest the third man being accused in this case? And now, the defense is claiming the victim was drunk during the alleged rape. But why would a working dancer make herself vulnerable by getting drunk during a performance??? Another baffling piece of information revealed in this case is that supposedly there were TWO women hired to dance that day. If that's true, then why did this other dancer...

Yes, I've learned about Finnerty's acts of aggression towards gay men in Georgetown. Doesn't look too good for Finnerty. I really don't think these men are going to get away with this. Things are getting more and more complicated for them. I've had the issue come up jokingly, but no one has seriously asked me for a green card marriage. Thankfully. I wouldn't be able to do it. The potential legal ramifications are too steep. I hate it when people are played, though. Last month, I met a gentleman from northern India, who after our first date, declared that like Neo in 'The Matrix', I was 'the one'. Initially I was flattered, but that soon gave way to annoyance. I wanted to go to the movies, go shopping, go to dinner etc., He insisted that as he had determined that I was 'the one', that any further pursuit of this 'friendship' was going towards marriage, I was to go to India to meet his mother/family. This is when you have to comprimise and during times when this doesn't work you may need to bring in a neutral third party. This isn't a perfect solution but it's better than having one party feel as if h/she is a subordinate to the other. At time comprimising can be extremely difficult and when it can be reached that when a couple really feel like partners and when comprimise can not be reached it can be a big strain on a relationship.
