I SAID FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE WHITE LIBERAL RACIST as long as the Black man does not express any notions of REAL INDEPEDENCE - such as the drive for REPARATIONS - then the Black man will remain in the good graces of the White Protective Liberal. When Ted Kennedy is "attacking the system" on behalf of the BQPF he is a friend who will help them acheive their goals WITHIN THE SYSTEM ITSELF. When the issue of REPARATIONS comes about it is TED...

Do you think the vocher movement today has the intention to desegregate ??? If the U.S. models its educational system like Poland or Belgium, most likely American schools will be segregated, but the segregation probably will not matter, because poor performing schools will be shut down, and the students from the poor performing schools will be put into educatinally better schools. So the children from poor performing schools will not be left hanging.

IMO, the attraction is rooted in the signifying, displacement, projection or othering that is part of white supremacy. If one sets up these binaries of white/black, good/bad, chase/sexual and libidinous, saintly/sinner one will see this phenomenon of love/hate. Women of color have historically been portrayed as sexual, erotic, alluring, dark and mysterious as well as ugly, undesirable, and repulsive. The "other" both attracts and repells. It fascinates and terrifies.

The title is "Unholy Stric tures". I think the reference is to the fact that the author of this article believes the requirement that a religious scripture be read as one would read a science book or a encyclopedia to be contrary to an older more authentic tradition of understanding religious texts. The requirement is an "unholy stricture" on how these texts are to be understood and appreciated.
