By Zbigniew Brzezinski ZBIGNIEW BRZEZINSKI was national security advisor to President Carter. October 9, 2005 Some 60 years ago Arnold Toynbee concluded, in his monumental "Study of History," that the ultimate cause of imperial collapse was "suicidal statecraft." Sadly for George W. Bush's place in history and "” much more important "” ominously for America's future, that adroit phrase increasingly seems applicable to the policies pursued by the United States since the cataclysm of 9/11.

It's legal because, as I posted , we did not sign that particular Protocol (III). The issue is that "thermobaric weapons "kill and injure in a particularly brutal manner over a wide area." As you pointed out, this is an urban setting and it is impossible to limit the effect of this weapon to combatants. The very nature of FAE explosions precludes civilians from taking shelter from their "destructive effect." I wanted to know if this was ho hum news. Clearly, to you it is very ho hum.
