Re: Neanderthals gave us disease genes

Of course they did. Plus I don't believe all of what white scientist say cuz I know it has a racist overtone. Cuz if they were completely truthful they would say that Europeans and Asians derived from the Neanderthals who mated with Homosapian sapian i.e. modern humans and survived through that avenue. They would also say that the Neanderthal is the beast who have the ability to be brutal, mean, hateful, violent and DUMB as a focking door bell. If they were being TRUTHFUL but they have what...

" So I take what they say about anthropology with a grain of salt." ********************************************************************** That's the way I feel about Westerner's hands being ALL OVER anthropology of all subject. They are looking for ways to manipulate "finding" and "studies" in order to revise history and facts and to deceive humanity into believing things about humanity and so-called "evolution" that is not true or real.

Yep. Even though I'm kinda "old" or should I say "older?" Hummm Anyway...I was out done when they tried to convince everyone that the Piltdown man was the original man. And how when that didn't work...then the original man came from China. And when that didn't work? Silence. For a long time...until China said "no we are not the original man. The original man comes from Africa." Well this wasn't "new news [cuz everybody knew but us blacks in America] but massa wanted to take credit for...

I still need to sit down and take some time to review the packet, because I have a lot of questions about my results! The Hausa/Fulani are often treated as one ethnic group, but that's only because the Fulani invaded the Hausa in 1810. Since then, they've intermixed so much that they are often referred to as one ethnic group, the Hausa/Fulani. But this most likely didn't happen until AFTER the woman I got my mitochondrial DNA from was captured. And also, the Tikar -- the only group of the...

Hmmm ... that's interesting! I wonder if inter-African mixing is looked upon in the same way that inter-American mixing? Taking into account that most of the 'mixing' between Whites and Africans was due to the raping of slaves ... I wonder if the 'mixing' between tribes was consensual or forced as well? Also, I've been watching this show that comes on TV called "Who do you think you are?" which is tracing the ancestry of various celebrities. The first one they did was Emmit Smith ... and...

Ebony, you raise good points. There is a wealth of joy and a minefield of sadness and/or anger that's potentially there when you get into this stuff. But the way I see it, the painful parts have already happened, and we already know it did. But the joyful parts -- our journey of discovery -- is new, current, and future. Not only that, but there's a lot to be learned that will make us proud. So to me, the joy outweighs. For example: Two great-great-great grandparents of mine -- named Andrew...

Reference: For example: Two great-great-great grandparents of mine -- named Andrew and Mariah -- were born slaves; the g-g-g-grandfather in 1802. He and his wife spent most of their lives in bondage. But you know how we know about him? VOTING RECORDS. There's something awesome in seeing that an ancestor born in 1802 as a slave got to VOTE in an election as a free man in 1867. I already pretty much understood the painful chapters. But so many of the specifics build tremendous pride, and joy.

My oldest known ancestor was Charity Smith. b. abt 1788 in Georgia (??) She was freed by codicil in Alabama in 1825. That was a very exciting and surprising discovery be able to know paternal grandmother's maternal lineage! It was very thrilling to say the least. Other than DNA results I think that has been my most exciting discovery so far.

EbonyRose, that episode of "Who Do You Think You Are?" was not very good. Lots and lots was missing from that and LOTS of presumptions. I didn't really enjoy it. Not enough scholarship in it. Now I'm hoping that the Spike Lee show will be much better. I really want our people to see what you can really do with genealogy.

Wow, Yemaya! That's really cool! We've been able to go back on my Mom's side just to my great-great grandmother ... but only as much as that her name was Sarah and she was *freed* by the Emancipation and listed on a document that we think the plantation owner made in trying to make an insurance claim of his losses. We haven't been able to find out much about where she came from, how long she might have been owned by that particular slave owner, who her parents might have been, what happened...

The only thing you did is provide more samples for some biological weapons division. And guess who would be the target of those.

Re: My African DNA-Ancestry results!!

Companies probably don't even perform the DNA test. They probably just sell and ship the samples directly to various bioweapons labs. Why anyone would think they could pinpoint their ancestry to one ethnic group when thousands upon thousands were brought over here is beyond sound analytical comprehension. You could have just guessed Fulani or Hausa and saved your money and also yourselves from helping to develop a bioweapon to be used against Africa.

why does it seem like all the long term innocent exonerated people are Black? I think it's getting to be about one or two a month. Maybe the system needs to be reviewed. Imagine if if the Trans gendered community had to suffer like this....I bet the Black President wouldn't allow this to continue to happen to them.

Hell, if they would put a stop to dirty and/or racist prosecutors' fighting against, and judges denying their pleas and appeals, there would be more than "one or two a month" . There really needs to be an over-site Court or Commission that does forensic research on each and every sentence involving life in prison and/or the death penalty.
