Re: Cyber Spying

I hope that these families win their lawsuit because there is no reason, other than spying on these kids, for school officials to even be accessing the webcam just to track where the kids were surfing the internet; the internet history could have been tracked without school officials ever even accessing the webcam, so which ever school officials that were peering at these kids via the webcam did so on purpose; and I can't see anyone other than a peeping tom or phedophile having any desire to...

Do you want an International Baccalaureate education for your child? http://www.rediff.com/getahead/2005/jan/24ib.htm What is so difficult about a National Recommended Reading List? It is like all suggested programs really involve creating jobs in the educational bureaucracy and none try to make use of many children's inherent desire to learn regardless of what the adults are doing. Is the European concept of education really about CONTROL? If a really good list was created parents and...

How many hundreds of millions of words have been written about the American Civil War in the last 50 years? How many books? How many term papers? How many homework assignments? Do you ever hear anyone ask what percentage of White men who fought for the Confederacy did not own slaves? How can a question that simple not be raised and addressed? Well if 25% or less of those White men owned slaves then that would make 75% or more of them look pretty dumb wouldn't it? So it is not surprising that...

If the kids are being sabotaged in grade school then what do you expect? How many children find grade school boring? I can't recall a single interesting book provided or suggested by any of my grade school teachers. But when I started reading science fiction on my own my mother told me they were "something crazy". I loaned a book to a Black woman I was trying to hit on written by a famous Black female SF author. I think it is her best book.

The way to put a stop to corporations/business/flim-flam artists fleecing students of their Pell Grants and Student Loans, is to make it illegal for any institution to be able to say that it is a "College" or "University" or "School" that is not fully accredited in the first place. Further, there should be a standard set that colleges and universities that receive public funding can charge a student. There should also be a national cross-reference (publicly searchable) data-base that shows...

Many people are doing (see massive increases in Jr. College enrollment) but it doesn't begin to get at the real issue which is that Education (all levels) is NOT a "consumer good". Reading the article you could replace the word college with dishwasher without missing a beat. Politicians don't want to address the central issue, but it doesn't mean we cant either. Education (upto and including college) is a "right" and not a consumer good to be treated like a commodity on the market or subject...

The short segment was a snapshot of the monthly update which goes into more detail. The point I was making is that the problem isn't with who's doing what with the student loans. Its the fact that loans are necessassary in the first place. This is a direct result of education being treated as a "consumer good". Principal rates, compound intrest, borrowing and lending are NOT at all necessary to education (or the university system). They are a fucntion of the "market based" model of...

An increasing number of cases are being filed by the FTC and the agency keeps receiving grievances about collectors from consumers.
