When people don't study history, specifically their own, they are doomed to repeat it. There is an entire documentary about this happening after Reconstruction through the 1940's. However, its not like this has ever stopped happening at all.

At the end of the day, how can legalizing weed benefit Black people in anyway?? That is my own thoughts regarding questioning this legal marijuana movement. The state governments will regulate it so tightly that most of us wouldn't even be able to comply within reason and they will still drag our black asses to jail. A no win situation for us. IMO.

The decriminalization of drugs is not the same as advocating for a new market opportunity for the Walmart-ificaton of weed (a real argument and concern within advocacy groups). I would not recommend it but people should not be punished for smoking pot and especially when pot laws are disproportionately used against Blacks to meet the profit greed of the criminal justice system. Pot should be decriminalized or legal for recreational use.

People think something will happen to cause the silent majority, the indifferent majority, the lethargic majority to become aware and active in the political process. So far in this primary season, only 11% of Democrats voted and 17% of Republicans voted, those are really pathetic turnouts considering the sorry state of affairs the country is in.
