On a recent segment of "Markeplace Africa" on the CNN International channel, the lady was interviewing the president of one of the major Chinese corporations currently setting up shop in South Africa. I came in about half-way through ... but what I got out of what I heard was that essentially, Chinese corporations are finding that the labor costs in China are getting to be too high ... and they find "cheap labor" as well as readily available resources - many of which they are the worldwide...

Well, I would say just because its a not a dominant cultural activity doesn't mean that we've forgotten about our rural roots. There are Black rodeos still out in the midwest, OK & AR. I have a cousin who is a professional rodeo-er (is that a word LOL) he's all of about 28. He grew up riding horses and bull riding. I remember his huge hats, his big boots and the countless pictures of all "rodeo" to his pictures of the Black Spanish bull fighters. It's deja va all over again. In the 70s, it was braids. Corporate America didn't want black women to wear braids at work. It took a law suit to calm them down. I think another law suit is in order...and every other time a school or work have the NERVE to dictate what is acceptable grooming for African Americans. Hey enough is enough. I'm with her as far as her hair is concerned, but I can't say I agree regarding her attire, because we all know that business attire is required in all "white"-collar jobs/positions, and 'business attire' only boils down to a "white"-collar job uniform, no different than McDonald's requiring its employees to were their uniform or Walmart requiring employees to wear blue polo shirts and khaki pants.
