Reply to "Why would young black women not be happy with natural beauty?"

This phenomenom has been ongoing since the slave trade and its negative psychological propaganda was one of the many tools used to "break" the slave (low self-esteem ensures the lack of motivation to change your situation) --- however, that is only a partial reasoning--- the remaining reasons would be the commercialization of "beauty" - the propagandization of European beauty as the yard stick to measure ALL beauty by - the desire that all human beings have "to fit in" where when African descended people are the minority they try to fit in with the majority population - and how far reaching Western commercialization of a European beauty standard being the yard stick for all has reached---- (not just in Africa, but all over this world; Africa, Asia, South America, the so-call Middle East).

However, I do feel disappointed that African women are obsessing with changing the complexion of their skin as we African American women are trying to teach our daughters and sons how beautiful they are and how beautiful their complexions are so they can see themselves how they really are and not how one minority world population tirelessly trys to convince them otherwise.
