Save the RHETORIC... and the leading/loaded, irresponsible rhetorical questions.quote:As to the Native peoples, before it was stolen and called "America" , most live in "refugee camps" called Reservations. They are terribly poor, dirty, and have no economy. Less those who over the past 15 years have struck gold with gambling. Is this what you want for black peoples? I doubt it.
Your rhetorical question is proof that you neither understood (or even tried) or come even close to doing anything but PROCLAIMING: Proclaiming that "You don't want that... (because I, OPEY, don't think you do - i.e. I haven't heard a word said, much less attempted to understand)."quote:We can train ourselves to take each other's ideas, beliefs, and understandings seriously. The rule is to stay focused, calm and pay attention. Communicate and discuss, rather than yell and proclaim.
Leave your baggage at home and just deal with topics forthrightly.quote:Also, I admit I am "white". So? Does that mean I am a racist?
Neither one has been solicited. The latter, to some degree is what a forum is about. But you are in no position to "offer constructive criticism" unless you feel you're somehow more knowledgeable or more experienced... I would be interested in how you arrive at that conclusion.quote:Do I know what it is like to be black? No. Can I engage and try to offer constructive critisism and dialoge?
You can offer your opinion but only an objective analysis of the subject and your contributions to it can determine if what you've presented or "offered" is in any way "constructive."
Leave that baggage at home too.
quote:When I see a person of "color", I see a person who desires the same things I do.

I must ask again...quote:Guess were not so different afterall.
Who in the hell are you talking to? And what in the hell are you talking about?
quote:It is what lies under the skin that makes the person. It is the heart that defiles, or beautifies the person.

Please "offer" more than cliches'... Calmy proclaiming IRRELEVANT, non-issue SHIT as you do... I'm having a hard time fathoming you "offering" any constructive criticism. That would require much more depth. To be frank, those cliches' are Intellectual Insults because of your rank, underlying assumptions... unprovoked as they are.
