sunnubian, you're correct but knowing how managers think, this person was straight panicking and thought about how in the world do I remove all the shoppers/employees and close this place?...even for a few hours?
Hundreds of shoppers and employees everywhere...coming in and going out..Walmart employees...vendors making deliveries....electronics, bathrooms, McDonalds, nail shop, eyeglass shop, home & gardens, full parking lot, grocery store, at the cashier checkout etc...And I know that he/she looked at the situation and thought about how it would be done and say....No I cannot physically do it.
And this also sounds a bit crazy but if Walmart did close the store even for a few hours for police to investigate, apprehend the suspect and remove the body, the corporate thinking is that we will lose dedicated repeat shoppers who will never shop here again...losing millions daily in revenue.
Walmart corporate..just like any other corporate headquarters...out of sight, out of mind forever driven by the almighty dollar and decisions made in the boardroom with little remorse.
The issue I now have with Walmart after thinking about it...is how will they clear the store of all people (using the exits) in case of a massive store fire or explosion?
What is their fire/natural disaster evacuation plan that's coordinated with the city/town/fire/hospital/police?
