I would argue that most black folks are also against illegal immigration. I don’t think that illegal immigration is a “civil rights” type issue. The truly historically oppressed groups in this nation are Native Americans and African Americans. Many other groups have benefited from our struggles and many groups are abusing our struggle comparing their plight to ours. The danger here is that as white males get “fed up”, with all the other groups pressuring them, political correctness….and all……it will be African Americans who are still legitimately trying to rise up from years of oppression, who will suffer the backlash the most.
I am generally not a fan a Lou Dobbs, but I think that it would be wrong to have him pushed out over the issue of illegal immigration. Its not as if there are million of jobs available for all who want them in this nation, as opposed to the musical chairs scenario of 10 people circling 8 chairs. Illegal immigration just makes it 11 people circling and competing for those 8 chairs….when the music stops.
