Law enforcement agencies have training to deal with hostage situations. In those stories which have gained national attention law enforcement has been willing to camp out for several days dealing with an armed criminal. That armed criminal is usually white.
In the Cliven Bundy rancher situation law enforcement was met by armed 2nd amendment paramilitary cowboy types and not one shot fired nor one arrest made.
A black man with a toy gun in Wal-Mart gets obliterated having committed no crime whatsoever.
A black homeless woman walking on the side of a road is beaten mercilessly by law enforcement having committed no crime whatsoever.
I agree with GoodMan. They protect coddle and rationalize the behavior of their own. Even if they make it in front of a judge they're more often offered rehab opportunities, mental health services,or a slap on the wrist. A black defendant gets the book thrown at them so the judge can appear tough on crime.
