Reply to "The Racial Violence that Dare Not Speak Its Name"

I think the angle that people are missing in these flash mob stories is that the mobs gather in areas that are predominately not black, like downtown areas or state fairs, and hence non-blacks are mostly attacked because its mostly non-blacks around. Also, if the mob is formed in the black community by twitter or other electronic means, they flash mob members might not know each otherr and assume that other blacks are part of the mob. Let me pose this question. What do you think would happen if a flash mob attacked groups of people at a black gathering or in the black community? I can tell you what would happen, shots would flash like Kodak. These thugs know that such behavior can only be safely gotten away with in areas and with people who are not prepared to retaliate in kind. They might be thugs, be they are not stupid. Furthermore, in places like Denver I can bet that nearly half those guys have white girlfriends, so it’s a little more complex than to assume that these thugs do not like white people.

Americans are conditioned to fear violence from blacks more than other groups. That conditioning is not lost among blacks. Blacks fear street violence more from blacks than other groups, as well. Hence, if you are a thug, or more aptly a “wanna-be thug”, then you are going to seek the path of least resistance, based upon conditioning. That means that white will be the most likely target simply because it’s the perceived path of least resistance…..or retaliation. You attack a black person…..you might run across that black person again and they might likely seek revenge, if they don’t pop off on you right then and there.  It’s the same reason that the US will invade places like Iraq and Libya…..but not Russia or China.
