Reply to "The intellectual BLACKOUT - You say AMEN after you Pray...why, where does it come from?"

Just a couple of things that someone might be able to clarify for me.

1. "Amen" is clearly a transliteration. What is the relationship between various written forms of the words in their respective scripts.

2. What is the argument for asserting that what we have here is a true cognate as opposed to a false one in terms of the genealogy suggested above? Might what we have here be a situation of false cognates and/or "false friends" (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_friend or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_cognate)
If not, why not?
