I do agree we NEED more story tellers telling OUR story...but!  Unfortunately a lot of us think we have the 411 on what it means to be black so if there is a black story outside the box of OUR experience it is either kick to the curve or CRITICIZED that is not a black story but something else.   Black folks really need to pull their heads out to see  and realize that Africa from whence we ALL came from is a CONTINENT.  So you are gonna get a CONTINENT of different story experiences from black people across the globe.  Our blackness can NOT be generalized...or minimized but!  It is "blackness" in so many ways and because of this legacy of denial?  Real....true...inspiring stories of OUR survival is not received.  And just so know?  The WORLD is looking at us and how we were able to free ourselves thousands of miles away from our homeland. That's inspiring to many!  However, massa don't want us to know this and is why he block us from telling our side of things to the world-I mean if we let him..

As a writer, there has been so many times I have heard from my colleagues that my storytelling is a bit bizarre cuz they haven't heard of it or experienced it.  So?   What does that have to do with me?   And yet there are other instances where again good stories are rejected in the black community because of a lack of massa's stereotype or a lack of massa's formula to story telling[ that blackfolks are used to believing].  So?  Even though Massa has historically twisted and distorted our experience with LIES and myths, there are still many blacks who continue to fall for it each and every time.  Cuz in their minds....we couldn't possibly be the "hero" in our OWN story....we couldn't possibly have power in our OWN story....we couldn't possibly  be soooooo smart and intelligent and can FOOL massa in our own story...and yet it has been OUR story that in fact SAVED Massa and the WORLD merely with our brilliant presence.  But we don't see like that.  And it's again unfortunate for those of us who have tons and tons of positive stories to tell of our experience with most of us too brainwashed or too socially insecure to read it or even support it.  As why massa continues to tell the SAME old stories over and over again.  Cuz why?  Yall know why  But!  ,
