Atlantic Beach is a small Resort Town in Horry County, South Carolina.
Located just south of North Myrtle Beach, Atlantic Beach was established around 1934 as an oceanfront community for African Americans. Nicknamed “The Black Pearl” it was one of the most popular resorts on the East Coast for African Americans during the years of segregation. Atlantic Beach was incorporated in 1966.
Atlantic Beach Bike Festival / Black Bike Week is the largest Black Bike Festivalbringing every Memorial Day Weekend hundreds of thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts travel to the Grand Strand of South Carolina. If you love bikes and the people who ride them, you cannot miss this event.
The event occurs in the City of Atlantic Beach and around The Grand Strand areaand attractions include parties, concerts, pool parties, contests, bikes, and the ladies.
The festival inside Atlantic Beach can be described as a Bike Week / Family Affair, with people of all ages coming to walk the streets of the town, admire each other’s motorcycles, eat at vendors’ booths and spend money on souvenirs. Atlantic Beach residents look forward to the festival in their town.
The Carolina Knight Riders and other motorcycle clubs came to Atlantic Beach in 1980 to help start the event in Atlantic Beach.
Be Mindful of Local Laws
To name a few very Important ones:
1) Legal drinking age is 21.
2) No open containers of alcoholic beverages in vehicles or public areas.
3) Motorcycle operators and passengers under 21 must wear an approved helmet under SC law.
The helmet law the city of mb passed has been OVERTURNED by the SC Supreme Court.
4) Speeding and seat belt laws are strictly enforced.
5) The Noise Ordinance is still in effect.
6) No littering.
