Kilauea, located on the Big Island of Hawaii, has plenty of reason to smile. One of the world’s most active volcanoes, it has been continuously erupting for more than 33 years

If its longevity weren’t enough, Big Island residents and visitors are being treated to an extra dose of magnificent. On Tuesday, after weeks on the move, a lava flow from Puʻu ʻŌʻō vent made contact with the Pacific ― the first so-called ocean entry since 2013.
