Reply to "Tamir Rice shooting: Call for US replica gun law change"

My son is a knuckle head at imes and he can do some really ignorant stuff and I don't buy him guns of any sort, hell I don't let him play video games with guns. He is dying to have Call of Duty, he will not get it util he shows more maturity and hopefully he will not want it at all. He don't get to watch violent movies. And over the years rap music is banned in my house.  My son was reciting a rap song ear shot of me, I can't exactly remember the name of the song but I had my daughter find out and had the lyrics printed out for me. I had my son read the lyrics to me and explain to me what they meant. He was too embarrass to explain but I made him do it and I asked him if he was raising a son would he like his son to like songs like that. I asked him why would I be concerned about him admiring music like that? He gave back decent answers BUT he said other boys liked the song and I said you are not other boys, you are my boy and I will win what goes into your head and what you will respect, I will win.

I told him not all rap music is like that but I am not going to waste my time listening to every song you listen too and rap music has a bad reputation of having words that will not enhance you or encourage you to do what is right.

You have to stay on top of boys until they grow out of that foolishness.
