I care about the plight of others in other countries, especially in those countries where blacks are suffering. I've donated to relief efforts and will continue to do so. I've been outraged by horrible things that are being done in other countries such as Morocco (slavery), Tanzania (Albinos being killed or mutilated), Haiti (slavery and abject poverty), etc. However, my primary focus is still on the plight of my people in this country.
I totally agree with you…
Personally, I am outraged by injustice & inhumane treatment of people everywhere but…
in my opinion, it's like cleaning someone else's house when your own house is filthy.
We are all different and people can only do what is in their heart & conscience to do (re: plight of others). A person has to use wisdom & discernment when it comes to where they place their energy (IMO). I also believe that knowledge is power, we must maintain awareness of what's going on in the world & do what we can when we can.
That said, AND for no other reason than it seems appropriate on so many levels….
I am reminded of a quote my daughter recently sent me:
Don't judge someone because they sin differently than you do. --unknown
