Historically speaking overt colonialism in Africa was actually a short period of time...less than 200 years. I think you may be speaking from a sense of pain and anguish watching your people suffer than actual historical fact. The history of imperialist China and Europe's fratracidal wars don't support your particular lack of faith in the African people's ability to rise up.
