I decided to let my hair grow. As one who is not a "hair" person per se...as I become older I am liking the above look. I probably won't let it get that long...plus my significant other doesn't like this dredlock look but! It's my head. But to compromise....I won't let it dread like that but I am gonna see how long it will go. Usually I cut my hair after every hairstyle so that new growth can come in. I come from a family where the women[south] focuses on hair length as if it brings some form of value. Of course...I rebelled. And was the first in my family to wear a big natural. I loved it. My mom had a fit. My dad wouldn't get involved. But as an older woman I now appreciate this look cuz it says strength, confidence, black love, acceptance of self, internal beauty, femininity to the highest form...black beauty to the highest form...a beauty that cannot be duplicated by massa. And I just looooooooooove that! But!
