who taught my brothers and me to overcome racism through hard work and personal responsibility.

What always gets under my skin when black people prattle on like this is how blind or stupid the individual must be. I believe in one since that this is true – on an individual basis. But under the umbrella of racism it's complete bullshit. He did not overcome racism. In an oppressive society, when you belong to the group which is oppressed, YOU do not overcome anything. You are ALLOWED and GIVEN privileges which can easily be taken away. And lets be clear Colin Powell, a Condi Rice, an Oprah Winfrey, a Tiger Woods, a Barack Obama and a Snoop Dogg are where they are not by working hard. They are their because they have been allowed to be there AND had to work twice as hard to get there more then likely. Ask Micheal Jackson, O.J Simpson, Ron Brown (still think is death was suspicious)
