Reply to "Michigan Still Defying Court Order To Deliver Clean Water To Flint Homes"

The state has said the delivery is too expensive, unnecessary, and counterproductive because it would decrease use of filtered tap water, which helps to cleanse the piping system. State officials said in a recent court filing that the order should be revoked because lead levels in the tap water in Flint now meets or exceeds federal safety guidelines. At the same time, state officials continue to tell Flint residents not to drink the tap water without a filter.

This would never happen if most of the residents there in Flint were WHITE.  They would have a state of the art water system in EVERY home regardless if the lead levels went back to standard levels.  They would do this to be on the SAFE side.  And ironically, these are taxpayers whose money pay the state employee's salary.  So we KNOW what this is....right?

Anna Heaton, a spokeswoman for Gov. Rick Snyder, denied the state is dragging its feet. “We continue to work toward compliance with Judge Lawson’s order,” Heaton said Wednesday. “The state does not currently possess the network necessary to immediately provide bottled water delivery to each household.”

Yes the state is dragging its feet waiting for Trump to come in office officially.  But in the meantime it's an excuse to say they don't possess the network to carry the task.  They can get VOLUNTEERS to do it.  They can put out a bulletin asking for volunteers to help Flint's citizens get the water they need.  That?  The governor can do but don't want to.  He should be fired.  This reminds so much of what happened to the folks during the Karina crisis.

Heaton said teams of state workers and Flint residents who perform filter installation, maintenance and education have visited more than 13,000 homes since the judge’s order was issued in November, and the state continues to ramp up those efforts. She said requests for delivery of bottled water and filters are met within 24 hours and nine distribution centers are open, where residents can pick up free water.

I don't believe this.  Otherwise there would not continue to be an outcry from the citizens of Flint for CLEAN WATER.  The people of Michigan should not only be ASHAMED but outraged that one of their cities is BEING deliberately and inhumanely neglected.   I'm surprised that chronic/major  illnesses  haven't developed behind this.  If so, there should be a class act SUIT.  But!
