But ... I HIGHLY doubt you'd be having this particular "discussion" - and discussing it in manner you are if it were NOT, as least in part, about Islam (the religion) ... and ONLY about "the history of Arabs."
The 'religion' (you're trying not to talk) about has been mentioned too many times for it not to be an issue.
Im discussing this with the same standpoint and focus on sound methodology in forming positions as I do economics.
In either case, long held assumptions dont' become true because they're long held assumptions.
