I think that the Reverend has gone overboard with his sermon, and I hope that the congregation made him very much aware of it. The KKK was and is a vile group of individuals that left a legacy of blood shed, hatred, and destruction, and here is a Pastor that states that he'd ride along with them in order to express the same prejudices that we as a people fought so hard to overcome. It is offensive to think that four little black girls in a church and many others along the way lost their lives to the likes of the KKK, and now a pastor is willing to forget about that in order to justify his disdain toward another group of people. I think his speech was equivalent to saying he's willing to side with the devil.
