Well it takes all kinds.....though I do think globally folks don't really know Black history....not even those who are black. Not just talking about history in America but the full KNOWLEDGE of black culture worldwide. And lot of those so-called bougie blacks don't even know the true meaning of what being bougie is-they just follow massa's led and pretend. Your point is well taken my sista cuz we do have a new wave Black mentality, however Black history in this country and aboard show that it is fear that keeps blacks from forming any type of long term solidarity whether in Africa or out. Cuz "fear" happened during slavery, jim crow, civil rights, the crack and gang epidemic….and continue even today in other social forms...black lives matter, the so-called women's movement-all have kept Black folks from showing their REAL power. We start it. Then it's taken over. Why is this? I can't think of nothing else but....fear. Cuz what you describe in current black behavior is NOT new. We've had revolutions after revolutions for decades...some loud others silent but there has always been something subliminal that prevented us from achieving the ultimate goal. Or... we get real close to it, then it abruptly slips away. We couldn't even achieve it when Obama became President. In fact, we as a culture regressed.
So. It could be just "us" fearing the unknown that make us backstab/set up each other, sabotage our progress and betray/ deceive our community. Cuz we are the only group of humans I know that literately self-hate every single thing about being "black" and openly show it the world. And then wonder why we're hated or misunderstood. So in order for black people to overcome this? It starts with Black Love. And lately I ain't seen no one in the Black Caucus or anywhere else giving or showing "Black love." Cuz that is our ONLY salvation. Unfortunately a lot of uppity black folks didn't get the memo..... to our detriment. But!
