Reply to "George Washington Carver: Scientist and Inventor"

Memories of grade school. The nuns at my school had this record about George Washington Carver and they would occasionally bring a portable phonograph to class and play it for us.

It got to the point where I would think, "Oh no! They are going to play that thing about George Washington Carver AGAIN!"

Make a big deal about the person but never actually teach any science. Where did he learn science himself, before he started doing it that is?
