"Hollywood" has rejected Detroit. Nobody wants to work there.
Louis Schimmel, emergency manager of Pontiac, Michigan screwed that deal up. He and a few other wet blankets were against backing incentives to Hollywood with state pension funds. Just to add insult to injury, Hollywood was planning on shooting over 40 films there, one of which being IRON-MAN, which took in over 200 million overseas BEFORE debuting in the U.S., until Schimmel came on the scene, hosed everything down and ran off investors. Now, if news of an economic opportunity of this scale has been accessible to the general populus for years, then how the hell is it that the almighty NOI didn't step in and provide some spotlight on the issue? Yeah, that's what I thought. The NOI is garbage--a front. They've lost relevence decades ago, which is why I don't want to hear a damn thing from Louis Decepticon.
