Yes, the attack on the USS Maddox on August 2, 1964 and the second attack on the Maddox and the C. Turner Joy on August 4 were lies and a pretext to attack North Vietnam. Yet another example of the US pursuing policies contrary to its own best interest, at a cost of two – four million Vietnamese dead (no one is sure of the real number) and fifty-eight thousand American dead.
These men never learn, do they? Or, they just don't care, at least about other people's lives.
