BLM is not centrally controlled just because a few women started it does not mean they solely control it, BLM is decentralized and it makes no difference what these women sexual preference are, the fact is they are focused on the excessive policing of blacks and police violence against blacks. LGBT issues are not the center of their concerns.
And btw there are men behind the scenes of BLM, women are out front because it bad optics for police to beat down women, its a smart tactical move.
Men around the world are having to shed more macho attitudes as women insist on equality and as people become more secular and agnostic, religion has a lot to do with paternal attitudes in men.
Men around the world are not shedding macho attitudes. No man is interested in taking backseat in society to make room for everybody.
This is the type of attitude I am talking about in regards to Black males. Black males are so used to seeing women taking care of everything, that they feel as if it is the way things should be.
No society is just led by women.
BLM is not about stopping police brutality. LGBT and feminist issues are the center of their concern because they recognized that LGBT and women never were the center of Black politics - Black politics mostly concerned itself with economic and political issues and it was lead by charismatic men.
BLM is about a paradigm of what Black society should look like and be like and ultimately who should run it. Even the language that is used comes from feminism.
Also it is important to note, that the founders of BLM were feminists and LGBT activists first.
And they state this...
It goes beyond the narrow nationalism that can be prevalent within Black communities, which merely call on Black people to love Black, live Black and buy Black, keeping straight cis Black men in the front of the movement while our sisters, queer and trans and disabled folk take up roles in the background or not at all. Black Lives Matter affirms the lives of Black queer and trans folks, disabled folks, black-undocumented folks, folks with records, women and all Black lives along the gender spectrum. It centers those that have been marginalized within Black liberation movements. It is a tactic to (re)build the Black liberation movement.
And you look at it, straight Black men are left out ON PURPOSE. Black men are listed as prisoners or victims of police brutality or the group that excluded everyone in previous Black movement - NOT PEOPLE. Not people that need jobs or need education or need mental rehabilitation or need medical attention. Either we are victims or perpetrators of discrimination.
Where is the straight Black Male's place going forward...
Men move others out the way and make their own place in the world. Black women and LGBT people ain't gonna make a place for us once if they reogranize Black society to the way they want it.
Black men are going along with it and not questioning what BLM wants to do. BLM is using police brutality as a way in. It's a talking point. It's not something that it really concerns with itself with like that.
Look for yourself about what BLM really concerns itself with.
- The median wealth for single White women is $42,600. For Black women, it’s $5.001.
- The infant mortality rate for Black mothers is more than double that of White mothers, due to factors like poverty, lack of access to health care, and the physiological effects of stress caused by living under structural oppression 2.
- The life expectancy of a Black trans woman is 35 years. The average income of a Black trans person is less than 10K. Trans people are denied jobs, housing and healthcare just for living in their truths.
- In our country 1 in 3 black men will be incarcerated in his lifetime 5, and Black women are the fastest growing prison population 6.
And that is the only time they mentioned Black men by the way. The rest of it is Black women, Black trans-women, Black children.
Black women are infront of it because they MADE IT. It's not about it looks better...they made the manifesto, they made the programs, and it is theirs. And they make sure people know who started it. They make sure they know they are LGBT. They are not hiding.
It is not as decentralized as people say it is, this is not Occupy Wallstreet, where there is just a bunch of silly people in the middle of NYC, doing nothing. Calling it a decentralized movement is meant to discredit them. It is more like a network.
It is not a protest movement..it is a Black Liberation Movement - with Black men being treated as victims and discriminators led by Women and LGBT people...
Which is a problem - straight Black males are already on the outside looking in. There isn't a place for us - anywhere. Either we are in prison, the ghetto or on a football field or basketball court or a ring or a stage.
